How to play Carrom

Take a moment with Carrom before moving to another game. Clear your nine carrom men after the queen is covered. Use the example below to understand a decision. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Play a casual Carrom match using the house rules shown here. Tournament penalties and multi-board match scoring are not used.

A useful comparison

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Clear your nine carrom men after the queen is covered. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Step by step

  1. White starts; set striker aim and power.
  2. Own-colour pockets earn another shot.
  3. Cover the queen with an own-colour man in the same or next shot.
  4. Striker fouls return one own pocketed man if available.
  5. Finish your colour after a covered queen.

Controls

Touch to aim; sliders set power and angle; striker-position controls and Shoot. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Use one clear input at a time.

A useful example

Queen and own man in one legal shot cover immediately. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Verify the rule before continuing.

Watch out for this

The last own man returns if the queen remains uncovered. Check the rule before repeating the action. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
